IN SEARCH OF BALANCE BETWEEN THE EXTREMES, FROM ANTARCTICA TO THE ARCTIC

There are places on our planet that are more than mere coordinates. They are sentinels of the future. The Arctic is one of them: a fragile yet powerful ecosystem, Earth’s thermal pulse, where climate change is advancing at three times the global average. It is here, among drifting ice and temperatures that push the limits of human biology, that the future of our species is being written.

In this landscape of urgency and discovery, 75°06’S supports the missions of Tara Ocean Foundation, with a custom made Cooperation Suit, our flagship product, engineered to operate in the harshest environments and to support those who work every day to study and protect the ocean.

Headquartered in France, the Tara Ocean Foundation is a pioneering nonprofit organization dedicated to Ocean conservation. Inspired by the conviction of our founders, fashion icon agnès b. and her son Etienne Bourgois, that the Ocean is essential to life on earth, for over 20 years the Foundation leads a transformational movement to protect ocean life. With the launch of Tara Polar Station, a drifting research station completed in April 2025, the Foundation is now bringing together an international pool of scientists, including biologists and oceanographers.

For us at 75°06’ S, born from the technological legacy of D-Air Lab, supporting these pioneers is not a commercial choice but a matter of principle. If Tara’s mission is to protect biodiversity and anticipate climate risks, ours is to provide the tools that make such knowledge possible; safely, even in the most hostile conditions.

At the heart of this partnership lies the Cooperation Suit. Originally developed for Antarctic expeditions, this technological “armor” has now made its way north. Between November 2025 and January 2026, in the Finnish fjords at -20°C, around 20 scientists and crew members from 12 international laboratories field-tested the suit.

This is not simply a garment, but a modular system for extreme protection, developed in collaboration with UNLESS, an organization dedicated to research on threatened environments. The Cooperation Suit is built on a principle both simple and advanced: air as a natural insulator. Through a synergistic six-layer construction, it ensures comfort and mobility down to -80°C, allowing researchers to operate where nature itself seems to forbid human presence.

Our philosophy is embedded in every technical detail validated during Arctic testing:

•  Minimalist efficiency: more protection with fewer materials, reducing bulk to maximize scientists’ mobility.

•  Responsible design: the use of recycled, low-impact fibers, because studying nature also means respecting it.

Physiological research: product development centered on the medical study of the body’s response to extreme cold, turning scientific data into everyday performance.

Why invest so much energy in a polar project? The answer lies in the ambition of Tara Polar Station: to monitor the Arctic continuously through 2045. The data collected will refine European weather models for 2050 and help guide global ocean governance policies.

For 75°06’S, this collaboration embodies the very essence of the brand: the belief that performance is born from research, and that excellence is not a goal, but the natural outcome of rigor.

The engineering that today safeguards scientific work at the edges of the world is also shaping the codes of a timeless aesthetic. Our garments do more than incorporate technologies born from polar research, they inherit the mindset of those who refuse to see the horizon as a boundary, and instead view it as a beginning.
